The Great Gatsby-rewiew★★★☆☆

In the second review of today I'll speak of a book whose story inspired two films, one in 1949 and the more recent (with Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of Mr. Gatsby) of 2013.
I'm talking about The Great Gatsby.
The first edition of the novel dates back to 1925, but only after eleven years the work has arrived here in Italy, published by Mondadori in 1936.
One can therefore say that, compared to other books that previously I did reviews, this is nothing new; it is also true, however, that you can take different views of the same story, as evidenced by the fact the film.
The genre is the novel, the story is very simple, with nothing special to point out.
The author, Francis Scott Fitzgerald, who died in 1940 of a heart attack, was an American writer. He is considered one of the greatest authors of the Jazz Age, and overall of all the works, even of the twentieth century. He wrote four novels, plus an unfinished, and ten short stories on the themes of youth and despair.

Plot:
The ambitious Jay Gatsby won prestige, wealth and respectability using all means, legitimate or not. Now, devoured by a superb pride, he wants to revive love once flourished between him and Daisy, the woman who rejected him when he was poor and without prospects, to marry the scion of one of the great American families. But although projects on the scale all the weight of its charm and its power, Gatsby will fulfill his dream, but, rather, in danger of falling.

"I love the big parties, they are so intimate.
In those small there is no privacy. "

"It's perfect.
As your perfect and irresistible imagination. "

"She makes everything bright,
do not you think, old man?"

Before reading the book, I have seen both movies taken from this, and, as usual, are extremely different in most aspects, but, since I am not here to talk about cinematography, continuing with personal impressions.
I liked that the book would end badly (small spoiler, but you probably already know how it end) because it can not always go all right, and this final I think made it more real all the history behind it.
Being a fairly old book is written with terms of language quite high, even for the fact that the story is told, as a diary, Nick Carraway, so personally, that I would not recommend that the first meeting on the street, because It is a kind and a story that fits in any case the best way to a female audience, because, in short, the story is a bit the same, like two lovers who are lost and then find themselves, but they always have to overcome unexpected together .
I found it quite hard in some places to get on with reading because there are dead spots that look really deserts; all in all, however, it is a reading that can be addressed well and also in a short time, for the fact that it has only 189 pages (at least in my edition, which is not the one below but should be more or less the same numbers).
Well, I ended up with this today, but I will return tomorrow with a new book (in theory, on the program, will Barcking Tired) and I wish you a good night

See you tomorrow,
